PRP Therapy · Encino
Tired of chronic joint and tendon pain? Not interested in surgery? You're in luck.
Orthobiologics is a relatively new area of medicine that uses products derived from your own blood to help boost the healing process, reduce inflammation and pain, and improve range of motion.
PRP Therapy is a ground-breaking treatment that uses the body's own blood components to stimulate healing in injured tissues, reduce inflammation, and alleviate pain. It's widely used to treat conditions such as osteoarthritis, tendon injuries, and ligament damage.
The whole process takes about 30–45 minutes.
A small blood sample is drawn — quick and simple, right in the office.
A centrifuge separates the blood and concentrates the platelet-rich plasma (PRP).
The PRP is injected precisely into the treatment site — under ultrasound guidance.
Because PRP uses your own blood, it's considered safe with minimal risk of allergic reaction. To get the best result:
Use Tylenol as needed for discomfort (avoid NSAIDs like Advil, ibuprofen, Motrin). Apply heat packs 15 minutes, 4× per day. Rest and avoid strenuous activity. Use a boot or brace if discussed.
Return to full activity at your pre-procedure range of motion.
Begin and progress through exercises, including restarting physical therapy. Slowly transition to more dynamic activities.
Experience gradual improvement in pain and symptoms over the following weeks. Continue activity and exercise. Allow 6–8 weeks to assess the overall response to treatment.
Highly trained, highly skilled. A physician who's cared for active patients of every background — weekend warriors to professional athletes.
FDA-approved devices. Used to derive the highest-quality PRP, with little to no risk of allergic reaction.
Ultrasound-guided. Procedures are done under ultrasound guidance for accurate placement.
Sterile technique. Minimizes pain and side effects and ensures the medication goes exactly where it should.
