What is PRP Therapy
PRP Therapy is a ground-breaking treatment that utilizes the body’s own blood components to stimulate healing in injured tissues, reduce inflammation, and alleviate pain. This innovative therapy is widely used to treat various conditions, such as osteoarthritis, tendon injuries, and ligament damage, as well as for addressing hair loss and skin conditions.
PRP Therapy begins with a blood draw from the patient. The blood is then placed in a centrifuge, which separates its components, including plasma and platelets. The plasma enriched with platelets, known as PRP, is carefully extracted and injected into the treatment site. The entire process takes approximately 30-45 minutes, with the majority of time spent on drawing and processing the blood.
As PRP Therapy uses the patient's own blood, it is considered safe and carries minimal risk of allergic reactions. While serious side effects are extremely rare, potential risks include bruising, bleeding, stiffness, and, in very rare cases, infection.
Avoid NSAIDs/anti-inflammatory medications for 5-7 days prior
